We will publish here occasional poetry written by our senior partner Dr Penny Allen, the poet Laureate of Liverpool CCG.

An ode to Sandra - retiring practice manager

Sandra, retirement has finally come,

You've emptied your desk it's time to run!

Dave sits waiting in the wings,

It's his turn now to sort our things.

25 years here at Belle Vale,

Answering phones, opening mail,

Significant events, complaints and CQC,

Sandra says it's enough for me !!

She's seen lots of partners come and go,

Not many have lasted long, as you know,

From Secretary to Manager she has risen,

She'd probably have preferred a spell in prison!

The last few years have a challenge been,

And on each other we have had to lean.

No more moans about the rota,

Or juggling finances, Sandra's done her quota!

No more stress or late nights,

No more patients demanding their rights.

It's time for feet up, rest and relaxation,

No more work related frustration.

So now your working life comes to a close

But just as well I’ve run out of prose.

Thanks for being such a good friend,

Although I’ve driven you round the bend!

The end of an era is what it is,

So let's all join in a glass of fizz!

I'm sure I speak on behalf of us all,

We wish you much happiness

You’ll have a ball!
