Reception ( Patient Care Administrator)

One of our reception team has got a new job, - great for them but it means we are hiring!

Previous experience in a GP surgery is helpful but not essential, but you must be willing to learn our processes, use our computer system and have great customer service skills.

Hours of work are from 08.00 to 4.00pm, or from 10.30am to 6.30pm.

We welcome applications from those seeking full time or substantial part time roles.

Essential requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to learn new skills and processes
  • Good attitude and timekeeping
  • Ability to solve problems
  • Able to learn to use our patient record computer system
  • Attention to detail – written and number

Desirable requirements

  • Experience using EMIS Web
  • Experience working in a busy office environment
  • Experience working in healthcare

 

Duties:

To undertake all patient service duties as required by the Patient Care Coordinator to a high standard:  This could include:

  • Reception desk – dealing with patient queries
  • Taking inbound and making outbound phone calls
  • Managing incoming and outgoing post and faxes and texts
  • Processing prescriptions
  • Processing registrations
  • Scanning
  • Coding
  • Summarising
  • Liaising with clinical staff where necessary
  • Other administrative processes as requested by the Practice Manager or their deputy
  • Searches and reports
  • Call and recall
  • Post
